Infinity Ward developing Ghost-based Call of Duty 4 prequel

ghost

According to a story on thisisxbox.com, Infinity Ward is developing a prequel based on Ghost from Modern Warfare 2.

The game will apparently lead up to the events of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, showing how Ghost became a main part of Task Force 141 in MW2, as told in the series of David Lapham comics on Ghost put out around the time of MW2’s release.

These events will revisit COD4 and MW2, but this time from Ghost’s perspective.

Obviously, this could be absolutely untrue in every sense. We’ll ask Activision.

VG247 was told by US development sources last January that, before ex-heads Jason West and Vince Zampella were fired from the studio for insubordination, that Infinity Ward was not creating Modern Warfare 3.

Activision COO Thomas Tippl confirmed in a financial call last May that Infinity Ward was still working on something in the Call of Duty universe, although what that is unknown.

The future of the COD IP has also been determined outside of Infinity Ward: Treyarch will release the first map pack for Black Ops, First Strike, on February 1.

Upstart Sledgehammer Games, led by ex-Visceral bosses Glen Schofield and Michael Condery, is also working on a title in the series.

It’s thought that game is set in space, although nothing has been officially announced yet by Activision.

Killzone 3 trailer highlights the game’s storyline

A new story trailer for Killzone 3 has just been released.

It details plot in the shooter from the perspective of both sides of its conflict.
Sev, Rico and Narville, are in there, along with female ISA member Jammer, as well as the possible heirs to Visari’s throne – Jorhan Stahl and Admiral Orlock.
As previously announced, Malcolm McDowell plays the Stahl Arms CEO, and Ray Winstone plays the Helghast Admiral – both of which you will hear in the video.
Watch the trailer below.
Killzone 3 is scheduled for release in late February.

PlayStation 3 Top 5 games of the Year

WITH the year almost over, it's time to choose our five favourite PlayStation 3 titles of 2010.
1. GOD OF WAR III (MA)

KILLING is Kratos' business and business is good. God of War III pushes the series to even more epic heights, with spectacular set-pieces anchored by some of the best combat mechanics around.

2. NEED FOR SPEED: HOT PURSUIT (G)

COPS versus racers. It's a battle as old as antiquity ... or perhaps as old as the invention of the motor car. Either way, Hot Pursuit is fast, gorgeous and has brilliant online functionality.

3. HEAVY RAIN (MA)

A NEW high watermark for interactive storytelling. In this gripping thriller, every decision the player makes alters the course of the game. Can you stop the serial killer before it's too late?

4. SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV (PG)

5. GRAN TURISMO 5 (G)

THIS racing simulation isn't perfect but it's nothing if not ambitious and has a fearsome array of content. From the 1000+ strong garage to the wide variety of racing disciplines and features, it offers a lot.
